So, yesterday I got a root canal and for half the day whenever I smiled only half my face would go. Anesthesia is a funny thing. I think I laughed at myself in the mirror for 5 mins before the procedure while Dr Tanner was getting ready/finnishing up with another patient. It looked weird, it felt weird.....but it was cool. I was kinda nervous, cuz the last few weeks (after I scheduled the root canal and before it actually happened) I hadn't been feeling the pain I had felt initially. So I was wondering-did my tooth fix itself? Do I really need to pull its insides out? And Fortunately, when he got in there, yes, it did need the insides pulled out. We weren't just doing it cuz I was paranoid. Usually a tooth's nerve fiber stuff is all white, but he showed me mine and it was red and brown and ugly. But, still kinda facinating.
Why might I have needed a root canal might you ask? And why might I have been paranoid about it? Short story-Liam hit my tooth with his head, it was still hurting from time to time a few months later, and I got paranoid when it started looking blackish grey. NOT happy, as it was my tooth right up front. But, after the root canal he bleached out the inside of the tooth and all is well. And I get bleach trays for all my teeth-woo woo!

I was going to ask why you had to get a root canal! I live in mortal fear of ever having to get one. At least it was due to trauma and not because of poor oral hygiene! I'm glad he was able to bleach it too. Silly Liam... it's weird he hurt your tooth more than you hurt his head....
yea-I'd heard the horror stories so I was nervous and Dr Tanner said that I don't have inflamation or infection so it wouldn't be bad, and it wasn't. Pretty painless actually. I was a little sore this morning but nothing bad. Just irritation to the tissues near by from him digging around. I really didn't feel anything. :) But tonight Liam smacked the tooth right next to it-I'm hoping it doesn't turn into the same thing-I don't think he knocked it as hard.
That kid though has the hardest head. He was just bopping around tonight and in like 10 mins while I watched him go from spot to spot he hit his head like 5 times. Hardly phased him!
Lysie however, scratched her arm the other day, and tonight had a meltdown. They took of the gauze and some of the scab/skin came off with it. She's traumatized! But I made her giggle when I told her that she was bigger than the owie so she could tell it to stop hurting and go to bed!
